- I believe that this rule probably dates from roughly 1947, the serial number is too early for 1949 and the scale
layout was changed in 1949. For K&E serial number dating use the link here to
Ed Chamberlain's reference set of dating curves.
- This model differs only slightly from the 4080 series in that this model has the trigonometrical scales divided in
degrees and decimals of a degree, whereas the 4080 series has these scales divided to represent degrees and minutes.
